More Adventures in Celtic Cape Breton

Taking the ferry for a shortcut to the Cabot Trail.
Autumn river.

Bought a Cape Breton T-Shirt.
The Atlantic

Color-filled hills.
On a plateau overlooking the ocean.
Shiny shroom.
A picnic area on the plateau. The sun (if that is the sun) looks crazy in this. I wasn't in my car so it's not a window reflection.
Took a path to this nice view.

This loon would dive underwater for minutes at a time.
Marshlands.
The beach!
Had it all to myself. Too bad it was 50 degrees.
Pincer.
Pool of saltwater and sand in a crab's husk.
Victims and clues to the culprit.
Seaweed.

The little yellowish thing next to the loop of seaweed on the left is small plankton-type creature. It had antenna and little legs.
Mini tide pool waterfall.

Beach berries.
Abandoned building the marshes.
Ingonish Isles

Seagulls resting before the rain.
Sleet.
A second later: gone. The weather here is crazy. You can experience all four seasons on a five minute walk.
This mushroom had collected some rain on its top.
Making progress.
Filthy.
Rick adjusting some rocks.
This was incredible. Got to see some serious Celtic jamming on fiddles, bagpipes, etc. Here's one of the songs performed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgEZXw7cWyU
Rick and I went out and gathered moss, ferns, and grasses from the surrounding woods.
Even put a mushroom in there.

More to come!

  1. Gonna love that waterfall. Loved the artsy addition of the mushroom.
